Subnito Automatically Detects NSFW Subreddits
With over 20 million members, Reddit is the most popular social media website in the world. For its millions of users, Reddit is a place to share ideas, learn new things, and converse about common interests. Unfortunately, Reddit has a very dark side as well.
Many subreddits are dedicated to things like suicide, murder, sexual explicit content, and other horrible activities. What does a normal person see when they go on Reddit? Maybe a picture of a cat, or a video of a funny cartoon dog. But what does a Reddit user see when they visit a subreddit? They might be able to see images or videos of murder, sex, and explicit content, and they may never have expected to see this. For these people, going on Reddit is extremely scary.
Subnito is a free and open source Chrome extension that automatically detects NSFW Reddit threads and opens them in incognito. That way when you encounter an NSFW subreddit it won’t be logged in your browsing history, which is useful if you are using a shared computer.
